Matthieu Dugal draws a parallel between the purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk and an old theory which affirms that technology brings all the solutions, “technological solutionism”. The host of Search engine thinks that “the relationship to myths, heroes, religion” is still very present in our contemporary societies. Technological solutionism is also “a very cultured trend in Silicon Valley”, as he points out.
” […] With the acquisition of Twitter, […] Elon Musk positions himself as an intermediary between great scientific knowledge and everyday life, and [agit comme s’il allait] solve a lot of problems. »
But technological solutionism does not work miracles, recalls the host. According to Matthieu Dugal, the electric car does not prevent urban sprawl, for example. Or, freeing Twitter from all rules won’t necessarily improve democracy.
” [Libérer Twitter de toute règle] does not broaden the spectrum of opinions; it restricts it because it’s the bullies who take control. »
Journalist Alain Crevier, for his part, analyzes our relationship to miracles and how it has evolved over time.
He also returns to the various studies made on the holy shroud which represents the face of Christ, and how science can make us question our faith.
