Metaverse has made dreams and fantasies come true in the virtual world. Now scientists have developed a technology that allows a person to “kiss” someone with a feeling of sensation in their mouth, lips and tongue.
The new technology has been made possible through ultrasonic transducers for virtual reality (VR) headsets. The secret new technology is said to stimulate touch by applying vibration and force while modifying the VR headset.

The technology also allows someone in the Metaverse to drink from a virtual water fountain, sip tea or coffee, and even smoke a cigarette.
It allows a user to generate vibrations around the mouth as the new immersive technology enables a near real-world scenario.

The new helmet was developed by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania. It uses a “haptic target” with all components integrated into the headset.
Research has indicated that the haptic system works best on the lips, teeth, and tongue. According to the study, the user experience showed that “the system improves realism and immersion in virtual reality”.
He further added that “participants uniformly preferred using our system to have no haptic feedback, signaling that oral haptics could be an interesting addition to consumer VR systems.”
