The mother takes her daughter to the pediatric emergency room of the Saint-Étienne hospital where she undergoes medical examinations. “She was taken care of right away, in intensive care. His condition worsened. The next day, I was told about hemodialysis. As she was too small to be in Saint-Étienne, she was airlifted to the mother-child hospital in Lyon. »

His vital prognosis was engaged. She stayed six days in intensive care. She was on hemodialysis until March 8, before going to nephrology.

Lifelong consequences?

The girl was discharged from the hospital on March 15. “At the kidney level, everything is not back to normal, her balance sheets are falling but are not good, and she is very anemic. »

Shocked, the mother struggles to find her words. “She will be followed for life. She can recover like having lifelong sequelae, we don’t know. These sequelae can range from blood pressure to kidney transplant. It is something that can be discovered in a few months or in a few years. »
