The Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show helps manufacturers connect to metalworking technologies through digital transformation

The biennial in-person event, scheduled for June 14-16 Palais des Congrès de Montreal, will feature seasoned industry experts who will discuss the challenges of digital transformation to Industry 4.0, advancements in automation technology, such as collaborative robots, vision systems, automation processes and mechatronics as well as the adoption of additive manufacturing or 3D printing. Produced by SME for over 30 years, the event expects to attract up to 3,000 manufacturing professionals.

“Growth in the manufacturing industry is not just about adopting smarter and faster technologies, but it’s also about knowing how to make changes as the global landscape changes,” says Robert Willig, Managing Director and CEO of SME. “At the Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show, you will see for yourself how companies are already making smart changes, training their staff and getting a great return on their investment. This event will introduce you to several key smart manufacturing disciplines to guide you on your journey from a smart factory to a smart supply chain, and most importantly, a smart workforce. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to speak with these innovators about their experiences. »

Mr. Willig said that Quebec has played a leading role in the digital transition to Industry 4.0 technologies. Additionally, he added that to stay ahead of the game, manufacturers must continue to embrace smart manufacturing disciplines, such as artificial intelligence, motion control systems, augmented reality and virtual reality. These disciplines can help manufacturers run a smarter factory by reducing downtime, managing change, and providing valuable insight into their operations, helping to future-proof their business.

STFM Keynote Speakers, Special Presentations and Lectures

In addition to the exhibit, each day of the Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show (STFM) will include a presentation from a leader in industry, government or academia, inspirational panels with key industry experts who discuss relevant issues, followed by conferences on technology, issues and solutions that are suitable for small and medium-sized businesses.

These conferences are unique opportunities for manufacturers to meet face-to-face with engineers, product designers and managers to find innovative solutions to their toughest manufacturing challenges. These presentations will provide a hands-on look at issues encountered at different levels of the business, and will cover a wide range of manufacturing technologies.
