When Domino’s pizzas replace Ch’ti fries in Alès

At 1, avenue de la Gibertine, the first Domino’s Pizza in Alès opened its doors on April 18.

It opened its doors on April 18, following work that began in early March. At 1, avenue de la Gibertine, is now the first Domino’s Pizza brand in Alès. Two others exist in Nîmes, nearly 450 in France and more than 17,000 across the planet. The new point of sale for this international franchise replaces “La Baraque à frites du Ch’ti”, which Xavier Hebert and Fanny Souchon have been running for a dozen years.

On site or to take away

Here, we serve to eat in or to take away. We even deliver, thanks to a fleet of eight electric scooters, in Alès and a small part of Saint-Privat-des-Vieux. At the head of a team of about twenty people, Salim Ben Amor, the franchisee, lives, in the Cévennes, a new experience, both professional and personal.

Originally from Île-de-France, he had already worked for Domino’s between 2007 and 2011 before continuing in telecommunications. “I had always dreamed of having my store and, after confinement and a phase of reflection, I contacted the franchise”, he confides. On the sidelines of training, several cities were offered to him, including Alès, which he did not know.

“We were eagerly awaited”

“With my family, I spent a few days there, last August. And we fell in love with the region”, he said. Between a new professional challenge and another existence in “a city on a human scale”Salim Ben Amor is pleased to have fulfilled his wishes. “Both in one!”

From the counter of his shop, the manager looks outside: “A location like this, there is no better. There is a lot of passage. The first days are excellent. There are people; we were very expected.”
